EMILY SCOTT YOGA
Emily is a certified Vinyasa Flow yoga teacher, teaching a variety of classes in Sussex, England. She’s a mother, a wife, a former professional dancer, and a former corporate ladder climber, who now just wants to help others feel good in their bodies and find a little quiet in this noisy land they call life. Her classes are dynamic, fluid, strong, and even fun.
In her classes, Emily aims to give people an experience, rather than just a workout. She wants you to get fit and strong, but float out of the room feeling refreshed. She focuses on spine alignment, core and strength work, creative sequencing, and linking the breath to the movement to create a moving meditation. She aims to get people to achieve healthier patterns of movement so their bodies will be strong and last long, and, most importantly, feel good.

Emma is a full time Yoga teacher, published writer, musician and therapist. Having grown up surrounded by meditation, Yoga and alternative health, she has spent her life developing her passion to help others benefit from these practices in a way that suits busy, modern-day lifestyles. Emma leads trainings and retreats, and lectures on Yoga philosophy, natural health and Ayurveda. As well as managing the annual Brighton Yoga Festival, she currently writes for UK health and wellbeing magazines like Breathe Magazine and Soul & Spirit, and online for companies like Yoga Matters.
For our January 2018 'REJUVENATE' Retreat Emma will be offering an Ayurvedic Workshop.
Ayurveda is the science of life. Specifically, it’s the science of how to live a long and healthy life, and how to stay balanced in mind and body. The world of Ayurveda is deeply fascinating - it gives us valuable insights into our own health and wellbeing, and how to take care of ourselves naturally. From utilising different foods and herbs to changing daily routines each season, to self massage and even cleansing and detoxing, there’s no end to the many self care practices Ayurveda has to offer. Tapping into this ancient knowledge allows us to learn from a health system that began 5000 years ago, and is not only surviving today, but thriving.
If she couldn't be more talented Emma is also an expert in Sound Healing, again something special we are offering on the 'REJUVENATE' Retreat in 2018.
Using the soothing sounds of singing bowls, gongs and chimes. Sound healing sessions are designed to bring the mind into a deeply relaxed dream-like state, and the body into a place of complete comfort and bliss. The listener needs do nothing more than listen and be, allowing the sounds to envelope them, and the nervous system to be re-set and rebalanced. Essential for those who need to relax busy minds and bodies.
YOGA WITH CATHERINE
Catherine is a certified 200Hr Yoga teacher, teaching a variety of hot yoga, restorative, vinyasa flow, hatha and yin yoga classes across West Sussex. Catherine also runs her 'Zen do' yoga hen party package business through Go Hen.
Catherine initially came to yoga through surfing having grown up in Devon. However, it didn't become her 'thing' until moving to Haywards Heath and finding her sanctuary in yoga classes at the end of her busy London corporate commuter work days. Catherine was fascinated by how yoga quietened her mind and helped her deal with the daily grind.
Catherine has a passion for helping others through yoga by offering and sharing what she has learned on her own journey so far. Her classes focus on compassion, acceptance and healing of our bodies and minds.
"All I hope for and aim for is for everyone to leave my classes feeling better in some way than when they stepped in. Seeing people leave looking truly relaxed, refreshed and revived is the biggest reward I could ask for as a yoga teacher."
Kate has been practising yoga daily for over a decade, and teaching since 2013. She is a 200 hours certified yoga teacher, and has also completed hundreds of hours training in restorative yoga, pregnancy yoga, and postnatal yoga teaching. Kate teaches a wide variety of weekly classes including women’s yoga, vinysasa flow, and restorative yoga, in Haywards Heath, Bolney and Cuckfield. She also offers 1-1 sessions.
Kate aims to offer the kind of classes that she loves to practice herself – those which get the energy flowing and leave you feeling happier and healthier than when you arrived on the mat. Her classes are designed to be accessible, supportive and fun for everyone - from complete newcomers to experienced yogis. She offers detailed assistance to beginners and also more challenging options for people looking to develop their practice.
CUCKFIELD YOGA BOUTIQUE - SHYARA CHEESMUR
Shyara Cheesmur is a Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher certified through a 200-hour Yoga Alliance Training.
Believing yoga should be made available to everyone Shyara established the Cuckfield Yoga Boutique in 2016 to offer small, friendly classes (typically 5-6 clients per class) in a secure and safe environment. Her goal is to help clients develop a yoga practice that works specifically for them as individuals.
Classes range from Dynamic Vinyasa Flow sessions for beginner to intermediate level practitioners, gentle Hatha flow classes and even 1:1 chair yoga sessions for the over 60's. All classes cover the major yoga postures (Asana), breathing techniques (Pranayama) and help build strength gradually through controlled fluid movement.
Her teaching style is based on her own yoga practice and experiences of different yoga styles, including Iyengar, Vinyasa Flow, Hatha and restorative yoga.
"I love yogafor so many reasons! It helpsus get out of our own heads, it keeps us honest, makes us feel strong, reminds us to breathe and helps us stay focused. I am learning constantly and feel I learn as much from my students as they learn from me which is a true privilege".
Cuckfield Yoga Boutique runs both daytime and evening classes on Mon, Weds and Thurs at the Queens Hall, Cuckfield.
THE GARDEN CHEF
Becky Cook, AKA The Garden Chef is all about the freshest ingredients, locally sourced, used to create delicious food, it's that simple.
Based at her home venue of Patrick's Barn, Becky has a passion for home produced, beautiful food, seeking out amazing local suppliers as well as producing as much as she can - keeping her our own chickens, quails and bees. She has worked in the food and catering industry for last 24 years, starting in a converted log cabin in the garden - hence the name!
Ottilie believe food can be your poison or your medicine. Collaborating with The Garden Chef to produce a menu for Yoga Brunch using the most fresh, nutrient dense, whole and vibrant ingredients is of utmost importance to the experience of
Ottilie Yoga Brunch.
